Volunteering at AARP, Part 2

I started volunteering with AARP Hawaii, helping them with their educational Zoom webinars for the wider community. I know, most of my same age group friends run as far away from AARP as they can since in their minds, it’s only “for old people”. For me, I think it is a way to help our elderly relatives, neighbors and friends and to better prepare myself for the future. This week’s programs from the Honolulu Police Department’s Crimestoppers and the Honolulu Fire Department was right up my alley since I’m interested in disaster preparedness. One benefit of many of AARPโ€™s virtual programs is that anyone of any age can register for free and participate, membership is not mandatory.
