There is already enough going on but I ended up joining an additional spouse club (HOSC) mostly because of their monthly cooking club.
We are going through a menu cookbook with different themes (America’s Test Kitchen Menu Cookbook). We split up into smaller groups (if needed), each person cooks one dish from the menu and we come together in a potluck, taking turns in hosting. Last night’s menu was “Spanish Tapas”. I made the (improvised) cheese and meat board. I couldn’t go last time but last month’s theme was the Southern Fried Chicken Dinner Menu.
It was wonderful to meet new friends. One even happens to live on my street. It was interesting because many of us have lived overseas in Europe and Asia at different bases and we could listen to each other’s stories.
