One of my pet peeves is unnecessarily wasting food, especially fresh fruits and veggies that go bad before we can eat them. After some googling, I looked up fruits and veggies that last longer and started buying more of those instead of fragile ones. I also tried anti-ethylene gas packets like these but instead of the plastic blue apples, I put them in metal and silicone tea strainers after reading one of the Bluapple customer comments on Amazon (less plastic and I can also use the strainers for tea). For bananas, keep the stems covered with foil or plastic wrap. Also, one other tip I found on Youtube was to store celery by wrapping it in foil and keep it in the refrigerator. So far, so good. The produce seems to be lasting longer.
