Unusual Hawaii-California Connections

It’s kind of odd or funny…I live in Hawaii but I take an online Zoom hula class held in Southern California with one my sisters and her friends.  Our instructors, Kapono and Lei, have family lineage from Kauai and Kapono has relatives in Waipahu, where he spent summers as a kid.

So this same sister lives in California and loves to work on newspaper crossword puzzles. She doesn’t subscribe to the newspaper so I mail her the LA Times crossword puzzles from Hawaii (plus other ones including New York Times) included in our Honolulu Star Advertiser and MidWeek O’ahu newspapers.
